Keynote Speaker: Daniel Yeh, Ph.D., University of South Florida and Gates Foundation Grantee
Reinventing Sanitation and Energy Use for the Modern Market

img_8874-closeup-300dpiDr. Daniel Yeh is an Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida in Tampa. His research and teaching interests are related to sustainability, global water and sanitation, renewable bioenergy, urban water infrastructure, green buildings and climate resilience. A major focal area of his lab is the application of membrane biotechnology to accelerate the biorecycling of elements (waste to resource) in the built environment. Current projects include the development of advanced technologies to address the global sanitation crisis (NEWgenerator) and conversion of wastewater treatment facilities into biorefineries for algae biofuel (ICARUS). In 2014, his research team won the 5th Cade Museum Price for Innovation and was one of six winning teams selected for the Reinvent the Toilet challenge: India, sponsored by the government of India and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Yeh was a recipient of the 2014 Excellence in Innovation Award at USF. A member of the National Academy of Inventors, Dr. Yeh aims to foster a spirit of innovation among his students to advance research from lab to field to market. Dr. Yeh has degrees from the University of Michigan (BS Natural Resources, BSE Civil Engineering, MSE Environmental Engineering) and Georgia Tech (PhD Environmental Engineering). Prior to USF, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. He is a licensed professional engineer, a board certified environmental engineer, and a LEEP AP green building professional.

Dr. Yeh is well known for his TED Talk on “Taking on the global grand challenges of water, energy, food and sanitation.” He will take this topic and add a specific focus on sanitation and potential impacts on waste disposal in his keynote speech. We are thrilled to offer a session on such a pertinent and important topic to the future of our industry!

He has a broad background in customer experience design and implementation with a number of firms and now leverages his talent and expertise for clients seeking to deliver outstanding experiences themselves. As a Sr. Consultant with Beyond Philosophy, Christopher has helped clients in a variety of industries. As a small businessman himself who has helped launch two startups, Christopher knows first-hand what it takes to design and execute a successful customer experience strategy. Chris earned his degree from The College of New Jersey, after which he went on to work for numerous corporations in a plethora of marketing positions. He’s truly touched every aspect of customer experience and strategic planning and is excited to share his expertise with the PSAI.

He authored Million Dollar Blind Spots; 20/20 Vision for Financial Growth and 2 other books, and speaks on profitable growth, accountability, risk management, and strategic planning. He systematically helped two companies achieve coveted INC 500 fastest-growing levels. He is a former CEO, CFO, CTO, COO, CCO, and CXO – Chief Xerox Operator.

This session will allow you to benefit from an experienced outsider tasked with helping you navigate you journey toward strategic growth, an improved bottom line, or just less stress. This session will include discussions of 4 strategically focused financial, growth, and operational issues. It will unearth where to help grow your business while balancing ever-present risk. Gary will assist you in focusing on strategic areas you need to address to increase opportunities or decrease risks. He’ll have you address the cause of feeling stuck and help you stay on track to sustainable profitable growth. By applying his common sense approaches to existing business processes, you will leave with a takeaway of actual techniques to improve your company.


Add On Events


golf_header_imagePSAI’s Annual Golf Event

Join in on a round of golf with your industry colleagues before the convention gets into full swing! This event will be held at Hawks Landing Golf Club in Orlando and is hosted by PolyJohn. Attendees will walk from the hotel at 11:00 am, with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Registration for this outing includes green fees, cart fees, range balls, and GPS. Lunch is on your own. There’s also a $50,000 hole-in-one prize for the designated hole!

Please note: Hawk’s Landing Golf Club requires collared shirts and mid-length shorts or slacks. Metal spikes are not allowed.


An Evening at WonderWorksorlando-facade

WonderWorks is an amusement park for the mind with 35,000 square feet of “edu-tainment”. The attraction combines education and entertainment with more than 100 hands on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination. Your ticket includes the “Outta Control Magic Light Show Dinner” featuring UNLIMITED pizza, salad, beer, wine, soda, and dessert. Transportation is included. Bring the whole family!
